The importance of …………….. to us all

I hope you enjoy reading this blog post.

If you want my help in growing your sales, let’s connect.

Whilst I may not have an Aprils Fool email for you today, I do want to talk about something important when it comes to Sales. It’s also a point I cover in my latest YouTube video which I launched this morning.

And it’s all about

SMILING!

My video this morning is all about the business lessons we can learn from the world’s biggest YouTuber Mr Beast. If you don’t know much about him then watch my video first and then have a look at some of his videos. Point Number 5 that I make is that his whole purpose and focus is to make people smile and by doing that, he attracts a tribe.

We can all as business professionals do with smiling more ourselves, and making those we work with smile.

Whether its a case of cheering up someone you speak with, adding a bit of humour into a prospecting call or email or sending a nice gift through to someone you want to work with, making people smile is powerful!

Not only does it make us feel better but smiling has been proven to improve our immune system, make us happier and reduce stress. When you smile, your brain releases tiny molecules called neuropeptides which help fight off stress as well as many other positive effects.

Not only is it good for us, but its also so vital for others. Smiling is contagious and it builds relationships with other people. It makes us more attractive to those around us and someone others will want to spend time with.

When we are trying to sell, its very difficult to continue to be harsh and difficult with someone who is genuinely happy and who is focused on making you happy.

They are a great way to build initial rapport, break down barriers in tough situations and get people on your side. All of these are things we should be looking to do when we are trying to sell.

Being honest, smiling is something I know I should do more often! I am a happy and positive person but too many times when I look at photos or videos, I think ‘I’m not smiling enough’ and so my vow to myself as I move into April and the middle of this year is to smile more.

In fact, I am smiling right now whilst writing this, thinking and hoping that you as the reader are also going to be smiling. If my email or the link to either my Mr Beast video (or one of my Sales Bloopers videos) hasn’t made you smile then try this one…

Did you hear about the cheese factory that exploded in France?
There was nothing left but de Brie.

Come on! That had to get at least a basic movement in the lips and jaw!

If not then please do send me your best joke! I would love to read it, laugh and smile for the coming week ahead 🙂

In all seriousness, smiling is important for us and even when we don’t feel like it. It’s a simple way to get us back on track. It has a huge impact on our approach to business; and if we can focus on smiling more than frowning, we are going to make a bigger impact in the world and help ourselves at the same time!

So, no April Fools Day jokes from me but a simple message to say keep working hard, keep believing in yourself, and keep smiling and making others smile!
